Bear

How cute is this dog? Answer: Very cute.

Finally

It’s been almost 2 years and I’ve finally put something on my barren walls. Not too shabby.

Thinktank

While I was waiting in line to purchase a drink, I noticed these four Coca Cola employees. The four of them had literally been standing there for 5 minutes discussing the layout of this fridge. Contemplating the strategic placement of various Cola products, each nodding in appreciation of the other co-workers insightful thoughts and ideas about shifting a product up one level etc…  It left me with a terrible sense of impending doom for humanity.

True story.

Book Shelf

This thing just about killed me.  I consider myself a moderatelty handy person, but when you have a few hundred bolts, screws, and wooden pegs, more than three pages of instructions would be nice.  Plus, all the wooden pieces were supposed to be numbered, which they were not.

Pay no mind to the nerdy books.

Gross

I call it.  “Single French Fry Bathed In Nacho Sweat”.  Gross.

New Greatest shirt ever.

This actually made me laugh out loud.

Gross Pickle

Check this out. The Center Shop on campus is selling a pickle in a bag. I seriously can’t imagine anything less appealing than a room temperature pickle in a bag.

Happy weekend everybody.

Environment Canada’s Official Weather Warnings

City of Saskatoon
10:21 AM CST Thursday 22 February 2007
Winter storm watch for
City of Saskatoon continued

Heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions possible late afternoon and Friday.

The potential for severe winter weather exists over these regions.

A low pressure system approaching from the southwest is expected to generate strong southeasterly winds across southern Saskatchewan beginning late afternoon today and continuing on Friday. Weather conditions will begin to deteriorate over southwestern Saskatchewan late this afternoon and over rest of southern Saskatchewan regions in the evening. The main area of snow is expected to move across southwestern Saskatchewan through Saskatoon and eastward towards Hudson Bay and Kamsack regions. Snowfall amounts accompanying this system will range from 10 to 20 cm. Snow and strong winds may combine to create blizzard conditions over parts of the province. Conditions are expected to improve late Friday. Environment Canada will continue to monitor this winter storm and warnings will likely be issued as the track of the low becomes more certain.

A winter storm watch is an alert of the potential development of severe winter weather. Persons in or near these areas should be prepared for developing adverse weather conditions and should listen for updated watches and possible warnings.

Now, according to my extensive meteorological training and my study of todays North American composite IR and topography map, I also agree that we may indeed have a blizzard today. Maybe.

mmmmhmmm. Definitely maybe.

Dangerous Gift Ideas

The ten most dangerous toys of all time.

My personal favorite being the “Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab”

The kit came with 3 “very low level” radioactive sources.

Kids do the darndest things, but not, apparently, nuclear physics. The toy was only sold for one year. It’s unclear what effects the Uranium-bearing ores might have had on those few lucky children who received the set, but exposure to the same isotope—U-238—has been linked to Gulf War syndrome, cancer, leukemia, and lymphoma, among other serious ailments. Even more uncertain is the longterm impact of being raised by the kind of nerds who would give their kid an Atomic Energy Lab.

Awesomes, and who could forget Snacktime Cabbage Patch Dolls:

They merely wanted a nibble—a carrot perhaps, or maybe some yummy pudding. They would stop chewing when snack time was done—they promised. Then they chomped your child’s finger off.
